We have to show the world that not all of us are like him.
Just remember. Nothing ever goes according to plan.

Was Valkyrie worth all the hype that I thought it would be ? Tom Cruise’s character the main character of the film, Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg. Is the leader of a conspiracy of assassination of Adolf Hitler. The last known attempt on July 20 1944, not long after the allied forces landed at Normandy. Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg after being injured in battle in norther Africa came back to Germany. He figures out a way to change Project Valkyrie, a emergency plan used to control the German government if ever Adolf Hitler was assassinated or a revolt against the government. He plans of a way to kill Hitler and to take over Germany as quickly as possible afterwards by taking over military command. High level officials and soldiers in Hitler’s Regime thought that this would help with a speedy end to war . Already all of them could see that the war wasn’t going exactly planned. Most of all, they did not agree with the way it was being done. Colonel Stauffenberg realizes that he has one thing that he must do . Sacrifice himself for the good of Germany and its honor by killing this tyrant.

This movie is based on a true story. Tom cruise even spent time reading historical novels and studying the characters real life to make this an accurate portrayal. Do not expect him to be pushing out immense amounts of action in this film. Although he does poor out the suspense as much as he can. With the help of a great cast of supporting actors and a great story. Turns out though to be more of a historical piece than anything, no matter what. Unless you have not read your history, Hitler was never assassinated. I did find myself hoping that this great thought out plan would work, and killing Hitler would be successful . Full knowing that this could never happen, I left the theater feeling kind of let down. A good film for anyone interested in a bit of history , but otherwise that is just about it in a nutshell. Tom Cruise was great none the least, although he is going to have to find some better scripts to be a part of in the movies. Before what is left of his career dwindles away.
